Baloch Students Action Committee UOB unit held a study circle on 21/11/2019.
Topic: Modernism and literature .
The lecture was delivered by the president of BSAC-UOB unit karim Baloch.
He expressed that literary modernism or modernist literature has originated at late 19th and early 20th century ,in Europe and North America.
similarly ,in literature new tendencies replaced the old established rules. A visible change occurred in modern literature by the selection of subject matter,themes,styles and placed new ideas about modernist literature .
As the speaker well defined the characteristics of modernism such as symbolism,existentialism,expressionism,surrealism,naturalism and individualism.
Lastly he connected modernism with multiple literature especially English literature in which the modern poet of England T.S Eliot ,who is the chief representative of modern age and modernism in his works. He has followed entirely a different tradition form the romantic and victorian tradition of poetry.
