Baloch Students Action Committee Karachi University (BSAC-KU) held its weekly lecture on ‘Student Union and The Spiralling Student Crisis’ where the speaker Haji Haider, the Central Deputy General Secretary of Baloch Students Action Committee and student of Doctor of Veterinary (DVM) thoroughly discussed the topic with the students.
He began his lecture by pointing out that in these days student politics is considered a blasphemous and an alien thing by the people and urged the students to reject this mindset and adopt politics and be a part of student politics as it is the most beneficial thing for the betterment of the society as well as for the development of critical consciousness of the students.
He then talked about the golden years of student politics and its fall because of the ban on Student Union in Zia’s regime and highlighted the difference between today’s devastating situation of student politics and the glorious years of the past.
He also gave some solutions of this crisis by bringing the ideologies and thoughts of Marx and Lenin about politics on the table.
He further included that being depoliticized has made us dehumanized.
He concluded his lecture by pointing out that how we are being kept away from politics and being made apolitical.
At last, the students asked questions and added their point of view on the topic.
